UK & The Euro
We believe that the United Kingdom will eventually join the Euro, along with about a dozen others countries. It is not known whether any official plans have been made to produce pattern designs for a set of British euro coins. It is likely that if any designs have already been considered, they will have been kept top secret for political reasons. What would the Government tell us of their plans if they thought that we didn't need to know. These designs, although un-official must had been sanctioned by officialdom somewhere as they conform in every way to the Euro stereotype, with official royal portraits.
There is a 9 coin prooflike version of this set, which also sold out very quickly, and is reputed to be changing hands in Internet auctions at over €250 per set. The highest we have personally seen is €150 per set.

Unofficial Patterns
On a number of previous occasions, especially before major coinage changes, pattern coins have been produced as a design exercise or to test public opinion. Many of these have been privately produced.
The pattern coins bear three different designs for the eight circulation type coins from 2 Euro to 1 cent.
Issue limit 20,000 sets.
