Pick Number "Albania P12"

A banknote issued by the Banka Kombetare E Shqipnis of Albania for the value of
Njizet Franga Ari - (Twenty Francs Gold) also written in Italian - Venti Franchi Oro.

The note was presumably printed by the Officina della Banca D'Italia - Roma, and carries the penalty for forgery at the lower front in Italian and Albanian. It also states in both languages that it is payable on sight to the bearer. This note is Prefix 'I' number 57,877 issued originally in 1926, and over-printed in 1945 with the new name of Banka E Shtetit Shqiptar.

To the left is a youth in national dress, and on the reverse is a village scene with a mosque in the centre.

A very well used note, which has been trimmed but is still in one piece. There are many cracks around the border and a series of cracks along the centre fold. As far as I see, there is only a very small piece missing at the top right hand corner. Nevertheless - A rare item, and a good collectable piece. The scan shows a reasonable image of the real thing.
