Francis Henry Egerton was the 8th and last Earl of Bridgewater. Educated at Eton, Christ's Church and All Souls College, Oxford he was made Prebendary of Durham in 1780. He died unmarried in February 1829 the title then becoming extinct. He left £8000 in his will for the best work on "The Goodness of God as Manifested in the Creation.
This is actually a French medal in the Durand series of 'Celebrated Men of All Countries'.
