DOMARD, Joseph François (1792 - 1858) - finished the Ecole des Beaux Arts (Fine Arts) in 1810. Thereafter was an engraver with Monnaie de Paris (the Paris Mint). Engraved the 1 Franc and 5 Francs coins used under King Louis Philippe I (1832-1848). Created the new coins for the 2nd Republic, but they were never minted due to the coup d'état of Louis Napoleon in 1851. Created the coinage for the "Chambre de Commerce", which were ultimately used from 1920-1929.
